ABSTRACT
The aim of the article is to present the main changes introduced in the development of advanced conventional military technologies that drew on the experiences of the Afghan and Iraqi conflicts. The study shows the origins and characteristic of the Revolution in Military Affairs (RMA). The article explains the evolution of US military engagement in the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq in terms of changes in military technologies (heavy equipment, precision guided munitions, etc.), as well as the limitations and inadequacy of the strategies used thus far. The article presents the military technologies that are currently in development (i.e. automated technologies and robotics, biotechnology, nanotechnology) and which are designed to become a solution to the new challenges present on the battlefield.
