Publishing process

All interested authors should submit their manuscripts for preliminary evaluation by the Editorial Board, using the following email address: irjournal@uw.edu.pl
Following approval by the Editorial Board, the Taylor and Francis F1000 editorial team will complete a set of pre-publication checks and may come back to authors with queries. In particular, authors are required to publicly share any data associated with their article and all article submissions must include a Data Availability Statement. ‘Data’ includes generated research material such as surveys and interview notes. If there are no new data associated with the article – i.e. all the assertions in the article are based on material cited in the article bibliography – the Data Availability Statement can simply state: “All data underlying the paper are available as part of article and no additional source data are required.” Once the article has passed this set of checks, the article will be published online rapidly and a process of transparent peer review will be triggered.
Authors will be asked to suggest suitable peer reviewers who have no conflicts of interest with the author(s) of the paper. The Editorial Board and the editorial team can also provide a list of potential peer reviewers for selection. F1000’s editorial team will then invite peer reviewers who will be asked to provide one of three statuses alongside their peer review report. Once an article receives two ‘Approved’ statuses, or two ‘Approved with Reservations’ statuses and one ‘Approved’ status, it will be classed as having ‘passed peer review’.
The reports and names of the expert reviewers will be published alongside the article, together with the authors’ responses and comments from registered users.
Articles that pass peer review will be indexed in external databases.
